Текст
Thanksgiving Day – an unusual name for the holiday. Look here - thanks = thank you, what does it mean? (спасибо, благодарить кого-то), and to give – gave – given = давать, дарить. So, on this day the Americans say ‘thank you’ to every person around them. Americans celebrate Thanksgiving Day every year, on the 4th Thursday in November. Today Americans have family festive (праздничный) dinner with a roast turkey and a pumpkin pie. Families get together, put on fancy dresses and costumes (маскарадные костюмы) and have parades with balloons and jokes.
